Who Comes Up with This Stuff, Anyway?
Tom Gibson, Publisher and Editor
Trained as a mechanical engineer, Tom later became a freelance writer and editor specializing in engineering and sustainability. He rides road and mountain bikes in the summer and cross-country skis in the winter and has developed what he calls skishoes, a combination ski and snowshoe (see Trackers Skishoes). Another endeavor has him consulting on recycling and achieving zero waste (see a writeup on that). As if all that doesn’t keep him busy, Gibson and his wife Jamie live on a farmeette complete with 15 horses, 3 goats, 3 dogs, and 8 cats.
Beth Garst, Web Goddess
Howl’n Dog Designs has been designing websites in the Roanoke, Virginia area and beyond since 1996, and growing, learning and improving ever since. Beth started the business, with an educational background in fine art, graphic design and art history. She and her husband Barry Briggs, the power behind all the database programming, live on a farm in Boones Mill, where they raise chickens and sit on the porch whenever possible.
John Quesenberry, Ultimate Webmaster
John has been with Howl’n Dog since 1998 (dang!), coming from an ad agency in New York City. He is the ever-morphing creator of twitchy and impressive code, never balking at a challenge. Not only does he bring his creativity, curiosity and “never say never” attitude to our office, but his faithful dog Sid as well.
Brianne Croteau, Marketing Guru
As an independent consultant working through Croteau Creative Strategies in Lewisburg, PA, she strategic plans, produces, and markets high-level programs, platforms, and events, in the process connecting, engaging, and delivering value to an audience. We turn to her not just for overall marketing strategy, but for the nuances of our social media offerings.
